7.43 "Praise be to Allah, who hath guided us to this (felicity): never could we have found guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah" Al-Qur'an :(Al-Araf [The Heights])
Praise be to Allah Subhanah indeed! From the moment my love for Islam gained momentum in my heart, I had an earnest desire to delve into this noble religion deeply which I managed to some extent during my working life. However my desire to satiate my thirst for a deeper knowledge was not given any opportunity until my retirement. The amount of credence that had been attributed to a few collection of Hadith – referred to as Sihah Siththa – the six most authentic collection of hadith literature., and moreover the devotion and reverence bestowed on Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, whose similarity in hadithes are being referred to as “Muththafaqun ‘Alaihi” (Simply translated as ‘Agreed’ by both these scholars) by every known scholar in the Muslim world, prodded my instincts and goaded me into lovingly delve into a thorough research of these most ‘valuable’ and ‘honoured’ books.
At first, I could not believe what I was seeing. As usual, I came to an intuitive assumption that these books must have been doctored by the so-called ‘enemies’ of Islam by publishing and distributing a contorted and twisted of these great books and I dug and dredged further and went through all the publications of Bukhari and Muslim, I could lay my hands on, in Arabic and in various other languages as well and found that there wasn’t a single difference in any of these publications – all of them were the same. My world of Islam came crashing down on me.
Alhamdulillaah, by the Grace and Mercy of Allah, the fair knowledge I had of the Holy Quran and various ‘thafseers’ and traditions that I had researched which were in line with the Quran, maintained the strength of my Faith and my sanity. This Du’a, which I was in the habit of reciting frequently, found in Surah Aal-‘Imran verse 8 – I am certain, stepped in to save my rationality and sound judgment. 3:8 "Our Lord!" (they say), "Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure.
This was the time, I decided that it is a duty placed on me and made incumbent on me to expose the myth of Bukhari and Muslim, which had been systematically ingrained in the world of Islam as being “Next to the Quran.” – “The Emperor’s New Clothes” of the Muslim world, so to speak. Because Allah says in the Holy Quran :
وَقُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا 17.81 And say: "Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) is bound to perish." - Al-Qur'an, Sura Al-Isra The Night Journey and/orChildren of Israel]) I think that the time to reveal the truth has arrived.
Here is one description of the collections of al-Bukhari: Quote: “If the rich literature of Hadith is assumed a splendid collection of pearls, Al-Jami'us Sahih of Imam al-Bukhari is rightfully privileged to be called a gigantic ocean serenely flowing for the providence and safeguard of those precious pieces of magnificence. A vast, yet shoreless ocean having lavishly quenched the thirst of many, it is unanimously held in the high esteem of being 'the most authentic book after the book of Allah' by advocates and adversaries alike.” Unquote They speak with pride about “the dazzling level of measures adopted by Imam Bukhari in preserving the credibility of his 'Sanad' ”. (The total number of Hadithes supposed to have been accepted by Bukhari is 7275 which is further reduce to 2762 Hadith after sifting out the repetitions.)
We cannot understand as to how they came up with such ‘intelligence’ to comment in this manner; but despite all these comments, which are nothing but ridiculous, there is no evidence that Imam Bukhari ever wrote the so-called 'Sahih Bukhari'.
The “ ‘Ulema “ themselves say that "Bukhari’s text has not come down to us in a single uniform version, but exists in several ‘narrations’ (Riwayat), of which the version handed down by al-Kushaymani (d.389) on the authority of Bukhari’s pupil al-Firabri is the one most frequently accepted by the “ ‘Ulema ".
In other words, they admit they do not have a single, written collection of hadith which they can say with certainty was written by Imam Bukhari. What they have are bits and pieces of information that have been sorted and put together over a period of almost 600 years. And to them this has become 'the most authentic book after the book of Allah'.
Please look carefully at the dates of birth and dates of Death of the so-called authors of Sihhah Siththa and compare them with the Imams of Mazhabs who were Jurists long before they were even born.
Imam Bukhari was born in July 20, 810 CE (Shawal 13, 194 AH ) and died in 256AH/870CE; Imam Muslim was born in Naisabur (Nishapur) in 202/817 or 206/821 and died in 261 Hijri /875 CE; Note: even the Year of Birth of Imam Muslim is not properly recorded. How is it possible for the collections of Muslim to be accurately recorded.) Imam Abu Dawood - Sulaiman ibn al-Ash'ath (d. 275/889; He was born in Sijistaan in the year 202 AH and died in the year 275 AH Imam Nisai - Ahmad ibn Shu'aib an-Nasa'i born on 215 AH and died in the Year 309/915 or 303 AH One information records the death of Nasa’I as 309 H. and the other records 303 H. What is the authenticity of the Hadithes reported subsequently. Even the date of Death of Imam Nisa’i is not recorded properly Imam Tirmidhi Born on 209 A.H.and died in the Year- 279 A.H./892 CE Imam ibn Majah - Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Majah Born on 209 and died in the Year 273 A.H./824CE]
In today’s context, The practice and rituals of Islam are based on the Jurisprudence and rulings issued by these Five Imams of Mazhabs – Hanafi, Shafi’ee, Hanbali, Maliki and Ja’ffari. And when they were issuing their religious rulings, Imam Bukhari and the Imams of the Sihhah Siththa were not even in existence. In fact Bukhari, Muslim, Nasa’i, abu Dawood, Ibn Majah and Tirmizi were born after the demise of these great Imams with the exception of Hanbali Imam (who died in 241 A.H.), who was already a student of Imam Shafi’ee. The Imams of all Five Mazhabs: 1. The Mazhab of Imam Abu Hanifa Nu'man ibn Thabit (80 A.H- 150 A.H/689CE) 2. The Mazhab of Imam Malik bin Anas (A.R) 93 A.H/712CE – 179 A.H/795CE) 3. The Mazhab of Imam Muhamad bin Idrees Ash Shafi (A.R ( 150 A.H- 204 A.H). 4. The Mazhab of Imam Ahmad bin hambal (A.R (164 A.H – 241 A.H). 5. Imam Ja'far Sadiq -83 AH/702CE – 148 AH/765CE
By the “ ‘Ulema “'s own admission Bukhari hadith is
compiled from a 'commentary' on Bukhari by one Ibn Hajar Al Askalani. To fill this gap the “ ‘Ulema “ call upon another fellow by the name of al Firabri (Muhammad ibn Yusuf ibn Matar al Firabri 231 - 320 AH) who they say was the missing link and source of the collection of fake hadith from Bukhari (died 256 AH) to Khushaymani (died 389 AH) to Ibnu Hajar (died 852 AH). The reader must carefully bear in mind that despite all these names and throughout this passage of 596 years between Bukhari and Ibnu Hajar, the “ ‘Ulema “'s own evidence admits that there never was any complete collection of Bukhari hadith. There was and there is no such thing.
The whole thing has been faked by the so-called “‘Ulema”.
11 H
: Death of Prophet
Let us logically, perform a closer study of the claims made by Al-Bukhari:
Bukhari claims to have been tutored by more than One Thousand Teachers, to have collected, examined and classified Six Hundred Thousand Hadithes of which he memorized more than one hundred thousand. Let us say, that he takes just one single hour to process each Hadith he would have had to spend 600,000 Hours – that means work non-stop for about seventy years – without eating, cleansing, praying, sleeping etc. Since the work involved is time consuming and arduous, because each Hadith would have had to be traced back to the Prophet Muhummed through a long transmission chain each link of which must be closely examined to determine if the one who reports a hadith partook of strong drinks, and for such attributes as integrity, moral rectitude, astuteness, truthfulness, mental alertness, and, not least, soundness of memory – in other words, the biography of each and every reporter had to be thoroughly studied, examined and conclusions draw and it is imperative that he goes back through 200 years of history. We could therefore, state without any doubt, that it would take considerably more than one single hour to process each Hadith. And to add to the fact that each chain might consist of as many as six or seven individuals of successive generations all but one of whom are dead, and one can readily see the magnitude of this daunting task. At this juncture one might reasonably ask: was it physically possible for Al-Bukhari to have examined that many a Hadith? The answer is No! If that is the case, then Al-Bukhari's own credibility becomes suspect. If in fact he did examine that many a Hadith then could he have possibly given the work due care? The answer is, again, No! He is said to have completed the work in sixteen years. This means that he could not have devoted more than fifteen minutes to process each Hadith all told, including, presumably, the two genuflection prayer he is said to have offered before recording each Hadith. That is they say that Bukhari prayed two Raka’ats of Nafl Prayer before he recorded a single hadith. Computation: 600,000 Hadithes divided by 16 Years is equal to 37,500 Hadith per Year 37,500 Hadithes divided by 355 (Islamic Calendar Year) days is equal to 105 Hadithes per day (approx) 105 Hadithes divided by 24 Hours is equal to 4 Hadithes per hour.-(in 60 Mins) Therefore each Hadith has taken approximately 15 Minutes only.
It proves, logically, that he has just been copying everything that came into his possession, without any analysis whatsoever. (Which we will prove in succeeding chapters)
Another exaggeration – That is: he had 1000 Teachers in a space of 16 Years which means over 62 different teachers a year and more than 5 teachers a Month – Spending less than a week with each teacher. In either case we are left with a highly questionable situation. These questions are basic and go to the root of the problem at hand.
How Islamic scholars, who claim to be 'scientific' and who have written what is called “The Science of Hadith”, could have failed to pose these question, is, to say the least, puzzling. Even more puzzling, is the fact, of their ready acceptance of absurdities without question.
Even more disquieting is the enormous importance ascribed to Al- Bukhari, Muslim and the other the other volumes described as 'Sahih' in Islamic religious literature.
If I go into a thorough reasoning of hadith literature and hadith history, it would take volumes and it certainly will not interest a layman to go into a meaningless meandering and rambling of words which will ultimately bore a normal reader and would eventually make him discard the book itself. Therefore, I have decided to categorize the discrepancies under the various headings for easy reading and presenting the facts, in a practical way, with all references possible for the reader to draw their own conclusions in this matter.
تِلْكَ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَ اللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ يُؤْمِنُونَ` 45.6 Such are the Signs of Allah, which We rehearse to thee in Truth; then in what Hadith (translated as exposition) will they believe after (rejecting) Allah and His Signs? Al-Qur'an,045.6 (Al-Jathiya [Crouching])
The following Chapters will slowly unfold in detail whether “Bukhari Hadith” is Authentic, Fabrication and/or Farcical? Let us go into each category one by one and very slowly.
Chapter 1 - The First Blind Misrepresentation: Bukhari is next to the Quran.
Note: You would have seen in my earlier lectures and writings that I have tried my best to quote from all sources, Bukhari included, all Hadithes that are in line with the Holy Quran, before I embarked on this research. What a stunning surprise I got!!
