My Name is Muhummed Zulkifli Nazim.

Name of my Wife : Sithy Abbasiya. Born on 17th November 1947
Name of my Son : Muhummed Fuzail - born on 23rd May 1969 (06th Rabi-ul-Awwal) who passed away at the tender age of 12 - in May 31, 1981 (27th Rajab - Night of Mi'raj)
A brilliant and unusually kind person. Who was able to read, write and speak 5 Languages - English, Urdu, Arabic, Sinhala and Tamil -
He has performed one Haj and innumerable number of Umrahs.
At the time of His passing away he was a brilliant student of St. Peter's College, Bambalapitiya, Colombo - 4, Sri Lanka.
My Wife and I suffered a great deal after the loss of our one and only child - we had no more children after that.

My life had been full of mysteries and doubts : I thought it would ease the strain within my system if I start putting my anxious moments into words.

Much later in my life, I came to know that I was an orphan, brought up by foster parents whom I thought were my true biological parents. After I came across this information, I started my own investigations and certain events and happenings in my life just came in as clear pictures before me and then I realized the reality of my situation. I would like to do my biography in detail sometime later, but for the moment let me stick to the essentials.

After my 4th birthday, Three other girls were born to my 'parents'.
I began my first schooling at Methodist College, Colpetty, Colombo 3, Sri Lanka enrolled as a student in the Lower Kindergarten. This is basically a girls' school and as soon as the boys passed out from the Upper Kindergarten to the Standard Two Classes, they were asked to leave to a new school and that is how I ended up at Zahira College, Colombo 10, where I studied from the Standard Two - to HSC II (Science) (High School Certificate) - which was the final class at any college before entering the university - (The present day - GCE Advanced Level - but more detailed and elaborate than the present day A/L).

As fate may have it, I was unable to attend a university, but I joined as a Special Marine and General Engineering Apprentice at a Marine Engineering Firm called Bonars (Ceylon) Ltd. Here I had my training in Marine and General Engineering for nearly Two - and - a - half years being trained at the Foundry, Boiler Shop, the Machine Shop and Electrical Shop.

Again due financial constraints, I had to abandon my studies in engineering and I joined the Insurance Corporation of Sri Lanka as a typist clerk. I took a liking to "Insurance" and proceeded to study through the Chartered Insurance Institute, London and I was able to obtain my Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Since I was attached to a Government Institution, promotions were not forthcoming as it should - because like any government institution, you get more political appointments and politically oriented promotions.

I decided to leave this position and embarked on a voyage as a Junior Engineer on board a vessel. I returned home after some 6 Months or so and Still not being satisfied with a local employment, I tried my luck in the Middle - East. From 1974 to 1979, I have been with my family, my wife and son, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia attached to an Insurance Broker underwriting for almost 6 International Insurance companies.

I returned in 1979 to Sri Lanka where I obtained employment as Manager Insurance at Messrs. Hayleys Ltd., one of the largest business blue chip consortiums - I was promoted as General Manager and then subsequently to Director where I served until my retirement at the Age of 60 in 2003.

In the field of insurance, I also became one of the founder members of the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute, and served as Assistant Secretary and subsequently Secretary for over 10 years. I was also the Editor of the Institute's Newsletter "Spotlight" until I retired from the post of Secretary.

HOBBIES

From my younger days onwards, I was involved in radio. I loved to repair them and even build them - they were the valve days and subsequently when transistors became vogue, I actually kept pace with the developing technology.
I became a Radio Amateur and my Call Sign is 4S7 MZ -
I was using my valuable licence for not only calling amateurs but managed to build a Medical network with our contemporaries in India. Chronic Medical cases for which a better treatment was available in India, we used to organize and send patients over there for treatment. Patients going through this net were charged the bare minimum and innumerable patients had returned to Sri Lanka, very blissful and thankful and satisfied - either completely cured or if not with proper advise on how to control such diseases and illnesses so that they could lead a problem free life.

Globalization and modern trends in Medical Science, and coming up of quite a number of Nursing Homes and Hospitals with excellent medical care, locally, this service became quite redundant and we handle cases, once in a way, when we are requested only. The Medical Net is no more, but we handle these individual cases, as and when they come - in a private capacity.

SOCIAL SERVICE

I was involved mostly with the youth - conducting classes in career guidance and religion. I have written so may articles on Islam and have given several Radio Talks and talks over the State Television.

I am now retired - enjoying my retirement and am involved in so many things which I was unable to attend to during my working life.

During this stage of my Life I decided to write a book on "The Breaking of the Fast" after extensive research. Many people in many countries have taken for granted that the Setting of the Sun is the Time for Maghrib Prayers. I have proved in this book, with proper references quoting the Holy Quran and the Noble Authentic Hadithes that the Sunset time given by the Meteorological departments can never be the time for Maghrib Prayers.

You can read it, download it, copy it and distribute if from this website.

Thank you for your kind patience.
