The Prophet (s) gave some instructions to Mu’az ibn Jabal :
“Oh Mu’az Do not allow others to bear your sins. Bear them yourself.
Do not think yourself pure by back-biting others.
Do not place yourself above them.
Do not allow your worldly actions to enter the actions of your next world.
Do not boast in assembly of yours.
Do not talk secretly with another with whom there are also other men.
Do not take pride before the people.
Do not boast before the people.
Do not play jokes on the people lest the dwellers of Hell play jokes with you on the Day of Resurrection.
